n00b question.

I've got a 96 Legacy L Wagon and I found a 2000 Outback wagon at a junkyard and it looks like it's in pretty good condition. I've done some searching but I haven't found exactly what I'm looking for. I really like the front bumper with the bigger fogs, but will it fit on my Legacy? If I remember right the 2000+ are a little wider, is that correct?

I'm also considering taking the front (heated) seats and rear seats. Does anyone know if these are a direct swap? Any other parts I could look into grabbing while I'm there?

I know the front bumper isn't a straight swap. I do know the seats will bolt in, however you'll have to rig up the wiring to get the heaters to work. If the outback is a limited or "cold weather special" (you can tell because the mirrors will be heated then), then the rear diff is vLSD. Also the rear disk brakes are the "H6" upgrade so you may want to grab those.

Ahhh too bad, I love that bumper. Looks like I'm gonna have to keep looking. I figured I would have to do some wiring for the seats to work though, good to know they will bolt right in. I did not know about the brakes though, sounds like I'm gonna need to spend a little more time there today ha. :grin:

you could toss on a 2nd gen outback bumper...all you need is the bumper, fogs, bumper beam, and grill

Yep, that's what I have been looking for, just happened to find a 3rd and wasn't sure on fitment.

I got most of the interior out today but the driver seat is an automatic one and I can't move it forward to get to the rear bolts. Anyone know what the best way to get it forward is? I was thinking just finding another power source (ie: battery) and wiring it in to the harness so I can move it forward. Is there a manual way to move it? If not does anyone happen to have a wiring diagram or know where I can find one??

you'll probably need a 12 volt battery...you can try using one from a cordless drill and tapping into the wiring for the motor

I'm pretty sure the bolts are sideways in the back so get a flashlight and a socket and try that
