asides from hardwiring my 12v jack is there a way to make it stay on when the iggnitions off? i despise having to have the car on to charge my phone.

Hardwiring is your best bet. I wouldn't recommend it though, as a power surge may knock out your charger or phone. Make sure you have a fusable charger if you decide to go this route. The only constant source power line in the interior that isn't difficult to get at is going to be your +12v memory line for the stereo otherwise.
