9Th Annual SLi New England LEGACY MEET 2012

[Reason]

This is the official thread so please try to keep posts to about the meet only. And lets try to make it 30 Legacies this year!!

The meet will be held at Colt State park In Bristol RI at 11am (I'll try to be there early). The meet will last till everyone takes off. Some years the majority of us didn't part ways till 8pm. We keep it simple, we show up, hang out, BS and meet some of the people we got to know over time on SLi. Some bring chairs and we kick the shit, some people bring food and drinks, some of us make a quick run to Wendys up the road. Come by for however long you want, say hi and show off your car and check out the rest of the rides!

If for some reason we aren't at this location we will be SOMEWHERE in the park. I found a few hidden spots that we may have to use. That's why I urge you to swap numbers with people so you can call someone else that may have found the rest of us already.

I have every intention of being there. I hate to say I will be there 100% for sure, because I never know what things may happen in the time in between, but as of now I have requested off work for that entire weekend.

I can vouch, dplacencia's silver GT really is something to see in person. I love that car.


Come on guys! I wanna meet some people! Bring your car! And yourself! I'm not driving 7.5 hours to show my car off, I can do that around here. I want to meet people that I normally wouldn't get to meet.

Im pretty awesome, and probably someone you'd want to meet. Not to be conceited, just saying. You're missing out if you're not there.

Let me also say the list isnt a guarantee. Most of the guys there do show up every year. But we get a few people that either dont post in this thread or at all just show up. Last years meet was kind of small, but I didn't push it like every other year. This year will be like past years, and trust me it will be worth the trip.

The day of the meet, that area average temp is 83 degrees, High is 95 degrees. 15 degrees or 105, rain or shine I'll be there.

We had a meet yesterday in the 100 degree temps. We were hiding under the shade and drinking lots of fluids, but we survived.

I've always seen most people bring chairs and coolers. We always do quick food runs to Wendy's like Shane said. I just got this portable charcoal grill that I've been using alot so I thought it might be cool to bring it and cook up some burgers or dogs.

I usually bring a chair and a small cooler with drinks and run to wendys with a few people when im hungry. Im usually walking around crashing conversations and just making sure I meet with everyone. Who knows, im getting old maybe ill be lazy this year and just wait for people to come to me lol.

I dont know the rules for grilling without a site. I can call and find out.

I here you on the puddles, the last of us left right before the big down pour. I thought I was screwed, but made it home fine.

Very fun meet, I'm definitely glad I made the drive. Driving up with Yamazaki was a blast. I learned so much just on the drive haha. I'll be sorting through 6 gigs of picture and video to upload some highlights of the meet.

Great meet again. Some new and old faces, and of course linking the faces to the sl-i sigs. Why does it seem like there's a gigantic downpour everytime we finish? I lost dodik and redline on the way down I95...I think they went in the wrong exit? lol.

It was great meeting everybody!
We finally made it back around 2am (took some tolls this time for a faster trip)... watching a movie on part of the way back helped pass the time though.
We took some video of the rain too.
And only one gas stop, whoo hoo! So I still have one can of gas left!

As for the puddles? Oh, man, I had a heart attack with every one, due to my mouse-chewed wiring. No problems, though. Also got caught up behind a rear-end crash on one of the arched bridges in that little town maybe 5 minutes out of the park. that was boring...

And, yeah. as they say, "pics, or it didn't happen." Someone, prove to me that all those beautiful cars did congregate, and it wasn't just a dream.

lol, I was tailing you through that horrendous thunderstorm until the 95/184 interchange. Then I got buzzed by some guy in a swapped blue GC RS and tailed him for a few exits until he almost sideswiped a sebring that was trying to change lanes.
