I have a 1998 Legacy GT wagon. I have Borla UEL headers, a "supers" high flow cat, and a Vibrant streetpower muffler. At first the exhaust seemed kind of loud, but now that I am used to it i guess, it seems too quiet, and not as much FLUTTER as I would like.

My question is would making the midpipe, with the resonator and whatever that other thing is, a straight pipe make the car louder (and if so how much) and will it give me more rumble and flutter or just make the exhaust really raspy.

Thanks!

it will make it louder..more rumble.. and at higher rpms a bit raspy..

the resonator is one of the bottle necks.. the increase in piping is not really a benefit.

When you replaced you cats with a high flow unit did you use 1 or 2?

Care to post an example?

This is the same setup with a open style muffler (straight through canister)

Sure you get the sound but the lack of back pressure cripples the car in a way..

I had that setup on my BDGT and then gave it to Zak who put it on his BKGT.. both had the EJ25D.
