i am in need of an injector for my 90 legacy. i do know that their is somthing different about the injectors with the manual vs auto trans cars. but my question is, i have a set of injectors off of a 96 2.5d. they are probably different but i just wanted to ask to verify this before i go and buy one. and am i stuck with first gen legacy's or is their others that work?

yes the 2.5d injectors are different and require a different fuel rail. but the 2.5d fuel rail will accept sti yellow if you ever decide to go even bigger.

The STi pinks are top feeds and do not work with the sidefeed rails.

That said, if your car has sidefeeds (pretty sure it does), the red 2.5D injectors will fit, but they are the incorrect size for the motor, so the answer is nope.

also not all Subaru side feed injectors are same... the 2.2t rails take a different type of side feed then any other rail

I'm not positive on that. Josh (legacy777) found in the parts book that the 91-94 22t rails are the same as the 90-91 n/a 5mt rails. I haven't confirmed that myself, as I have no use for any of those rails...

Anyways OP, if you absolutely can't find the correct injector, shoot me a PM and I'll find ya one. Whattya need, auto or manual?

are all the 90-94 auto injectors the same or is it a 90-91 only? i can't remember. but if anyone has a good set, i'd be interested depending on the price. and if they were already in the rails that would make it easier for me. i know i can find them locally but this could save me some hassle.
