Ive done Subaru headgaskets but I heard the sti gaskets are thinner yielding a slightly higher compression. Now this is a 1997 ej25d in my outback, what year gasket set will fit? Thanks ahead of time

I dont believe any of them will truly fit properly. The water jackets wont line up. You could get a slight bump in CP just by machining the heads down.

The other critical bit is that, on the Ej25d, the stock pistons actually protrude from the top of the block during the stroke. There are posts on NASIOC and others about this. The thinner head gasket will cause the piston to hit the heads. Some folks claim they never noticed (I don't know how) others reassembled and instantly crashed the engine. Stick with stock or get ready to do some homework.
