Thinking about tackling vinyl wrapping my car. Mainly I just have dents a few chips here and there missing paint. Overall the car could use a make over.
Vinyl wrapping doesn't seem to be too difficult from what I have read and saw on youtube. Has anyone done this? Outcome?

theres a guy on subyclub wrapping his outback, looks pretty sick
i guess the hardest parts to do are the roof, door handles, and mirrors. i would just try plasti-dip if all else fails

i used to do it.
do you have a lot of time?
it's only going to last 5-7 years. (if it's the good stuff.)

I would do a panel at a time. Would take a couple weeks. The concept seems pretty simple. Just time consuming.
Have a recommendation for a brand?

I have whole car wraps on my company's vehicle fleet. Cost around $3000 to do the whole car, and it is time consuming. The paint has to be clean, and any dents may the application more difficult as the surface changes.
To do a "showcar" wrap, you take off the lights, tailights, windshield trims, door handles and antennas. Then you wrap the metal, and reinstall the missing bits. Those wraps cost around $10,000.
Our wraps were less complicated, they just printed the design onto sheets, and applied them and made cut outs around the door handles, licence plates, lights etc. More cost effective for a vehicle that is going to be driven and get noticed, so you change the design in 3-4 years.

Friend of mine just got his STi and a 2012 Camaro done for $3000 for the STi I think... STi looks ugly as sin, but its just the paturn he picked. The Camaro looks good! They just did the hood and roof though...

Laying vinyl is a lot of work! I did it for a couple years for a sign company. Sorry I dont have any input into brands though...

Just trying to think of a way to fix up the paint. Bought the car for 1900 4 years ago. Not worth that in paint or wrap work.
The dents are going to be pulled soon and there are a few rock chips. Not sure of the best way to go about this

you can paint a car pretty decently if you have $200-300, some time, and a decent air compressor

Main thing about painting would be doing the engine bay. Unless i repaint it the factory color.

I come to them every so often. Usually middle of the week I am low on gas and I try to budget gas for work and that's it.
