Removing brake shields (front)?

Mine are so rusted, they're barely recognizable and they're constantly flaking off and trapping rust chips between them and the rotors. Is it unsafe/bad to run without them? Replacements aren't exactly cheap for what they are...

You should be fine without them. Your wheel wells will have a bunch of brake dust in them, though...so be sure to wash them out regularly.

I may have some WRX ones you can have for the cost of shipping. LMK if you want them Mark. And yes, you can run without them on a DD, as long as you don't see a lot of dirt roads. Also, you may have to check up on your balljoints once in a while since there's no metal in between it and the rotor when things get hot.
