I will be doing all new suspension for my BG in the next month and haven't made any final decision yet, I need help before I spend any money.

Im currently on wrx springs and struts which are starting to go. For the car, their not bad, but its time to upgrade. I have about 100k on them by now, bought them pretty cheap used and have put on my share of mileage on them as well so they'll have to go. I have strut tower bars in front (cusco) and rear (ebay brand) and an outback rear sway bar.

I do love cornering, It is a daily, 95% street driving, I don't track the car but do drive it pretty aggressively on the street. I really just want it to handle very well. I am looking for something stiffer than stock wrx of course but not overly stiff. I would definitely benefit from having dampening adjustability so that is a must. Height adjustment would be nice as well, but not if it means getting it aligned each time I adjust it.

As of now, Im considering either tokico D-spec struts (unsure on the springs yet), KYB AGX (unsure on springs) or BC Racing coilovers. I have read all the threads about the BC's and like any setup, there will be mixed reviews. For my needs, when it comes to coilovers, they seem to be the best for what I'll use them for. For the price I would be paying for the spring/strut setup, the coilovers won't be that much more. I've been in wrx's with the agx's and stance coilovers. Both of which are street cars, the kyb wrx was more comfortable but the stance wrx can take any turn.

My budget is $1k.

any advice or reasons either to or not to do either one will be much appreciated. Thanks!

Koni inserts in stock struts - because you have WRX struts, finding the right insert will be a cinch.
Pair your existing WRX struts with some new WRX springs (even some lower Tanabe's should be ok) and you'll have a nice drop, with some good dampers.

Upgrade your swaybars to control body roll, without compromising overall road feel.
SF roads are pretty nice, so you could go coilovers but the curbs are all different heights so that could mess with you.

If you go my route you should only end up spending about $800.
