you can also checkout paranoid fabrications, they make spacers in a couple of different thickness. the 1/4" one is the only one you can use with the stock studs however.

I would do them while you were in there just for the hell of it... in case you wanted to put a rear strut bar in later.
I JUST (last night) put 3/8 inch saggy butt spacers in the Fiance's 04 WRX wagon. If your install is anything like mine... you will still have to drop the entire strut assembly out of the car. I didnt have enough space to "squeeze in" the spacer... but I was by myself. You might be able to if you have a second person who is putting some downward weight on the thing while you push it in.
If you do end up having to drop the strut... pressing the old studs out and getting the new studs in would maybe take 10 minutes tops.
I tried to source new longer studs (M10 x 1.25 at least 35mm long) but could only find some that were 29mm long so I didnt end up doing them... even though I know that I will next time I am in there.

I'm using their 3/8th's spacers in the rear of my car right now without getting longer studs. I can't put on a rear strut bar however. It's just the 1/2 or 1 in. spacers you gotta worry about.
The only ones I'm seeing for the Legacy on Paranoid Fabrication's website is for '02-'07. will that work on a BK/BG or would you need to use one from an Impreza?

You want impreza/wrx spacers for a BK/BG.
