Just joined the site the other day. Pretty excited to have access to such a wealth of knowledge. I'm planning on getting a '93 Legacy wagon and overhauling it, then tricking it out in the future. could anyone tell me where i should post questions concerning basic maintenance and what i should look for when going over the car and replacing parts? I'm mechanically inclined and have worked on cars before, but I dont know much about subarus and what makes them tick.

Just wanted to say Welcome! Also if you're wanting to build it up a little, I highly recommend a 91-94 Legacy Turbo, as there are not too many things you can do to make the regular one faster. I have one so I might be a little biased though. ;)

Also if you are wanting a manual transmission I highly recommend getting one to begin with as the older 4-speed auto sucks a lot of the fun out of these cars.

These leak oil as they get older, so just be prepared to do a reseal when you get yours and you'll be in business.

Welcome to the forums. Look under the SLI Technical for specific discussion topics. I agree that the 1st Gen turbo is a great car, and can be a competitive with other turboed Subarus. Can't wait to see what you purchase!
