2006 Radio in a 1996 Legacy

I have a 96 Subaru Legacy L and I wanted to know if it was possible to put the 6 disc in dash headunit from a 2006 Subaru in my car.

If it is not possible will the headunit in the 2002-2004 Imprezas (6CD In Dash Changer) fit in my car instead.

Why is this in engine and drivetrain?

I am not 100% sure about the 06, but I imagine it will fit. Yes, the 02-04 will fit in your car and plug right in.

yeah it should plug right in and bolt up to the factory brackets. i just put a 6 disc cd/radio/tape player from an '05 WRX into my '98 Legacy with no problems.. it looks great!
