Hello.
I'm in the middle of a shifter disassembly on my dad's BK. I joined to find information about that, and I did in fact find it. All four bushings on the shift rod and boss are missing, and recently the return spring also disappeared. I wasn't able to finish because it started raining a lot.
Still, that and a rear toe issue is all that's wrong with it at 281k miles.

Four bushings? The front bushings are 2 halves and the rear is a 1 piece design that has two bolts securing it to the transmission tunnel.
And that return spring is such a common item to fail... I bet 60% of SLi has a wobbly shifter.

Anyways welcome to SLi. Keep your dads BK running strong for years to come!

Yeah it looks like four. At the front of the shift rod, there is a cross piece where it joins the shifter boss. It looks like I need a pair of bushings on each axis. Or did I misunderstand what I was looking at? I'm not doing anything with the stay rod yet. Those large bushings look okay for now.
Thanks for the welcome.

Looks like I need four bushinigs, maybe two sleeves, and a return spring, yes?
