Hi everyone, I have a major doubt, I have a Legacy 2007 3.0R 5AT SI DRIVE I believe is a Spec B, I need to know is it true that the acceleration from 0-60mph is 8.2 sec? because I think ive done it in less time and also people tellme the MT is faster and makes an aprox of 6.9 secs, is this true or just relative??

Well, the Spec. B was an upgrade of the Legacy GT model, which has the 2.5L turbo & 6 speed manual. As for the acceleration, I'd guess that it's slow because it's difficult to launch an automatic. The 3.0R engine wasn't exactly a slouch.

my wife's 3.0R outback sucks at launches, but if it's going already and you put the hammer down it is very quick
stupid slush-box...

Idk. Its no secret that I am not a fan of the ez30, but that aside the ez is probably about the same as a gt, I drove the 07 up gt and they suck. Very slow. My wifes outback XT turbo would wipe the floor with both. Because in 07 they de-tuned it and added the si drive. The car is better in sport Sharp, but in the intelligent mode its boring. The 05-06 legacy GT and XTs are much faster than the new ones. My legacy kicks the shit out of my wifes 06 outback XT.. but then again I raced an 08 STi and stuck to him like glue the other day so that's probably not a fair comparison...

I'm not so positive about the numbers, but I know the 05 XT Outbacks with 5 speeds are pretty damn quick! I drove an 05 GT with an Auto and it sucked balls. It didnt feel much faster then my N/A 2.5 in my 98.
The fly wheel in the 05-06 GT's are also a hindrance. They have a floating fly wheel where the 07-up has a solid one and makes for much better power transfer. I could tell the difference when I drove the car with each different fly wheel. BIG DIFFERENCE!
Anyway, thats about all I know...

If i remember correctly they 07+ are 250chp and the 05-06 are 276chp...

I driven the UK-spec 3.0R spec.B in both 6MT and 5AT form and I can safely say the 6MT version felt much quicker. I don't know what times they claim for them, but a gap of over 1 second from 0-60mph sounds right to me.

not sure where you live, but in the US, subaru didn't even offer a 3.0r in the legacy for 2007 and the Spec B was a turbo 2.5 with manual 6spd.
in 08 you could get a 3.0r legacy, but you couldn't get a spec b with a ez30.....

Yeah thats probably about it, a difference of 1 sec, altough I want to know if increasing the hp could reduce that difference, the aspirated engine cant be tunned up like a turobo charged, but maybe with some headers, or a cold air intakke or changhing the computers values might give better response in launchning!, however the 5AT is a very fast car I like it, buy I agree and prefer the 6MT is better car, you can feel the hp and have a better control of the car.
