What's up peep's..Just curious if anyone here has bought those complete sets of pre-cut window tints on E-Bay that are like $25-$30 for all seven windows,it sounds pretty outragous but it is probably better then paying the local tint guy $300.00 to do the car from scratch,thanks.... :?:

I'd much rather pay for quality film that won't fade or discolor, won't scratch if I look at it wrong, and carries a lifetime warranty when installed professionally. Tint is not something you want to cheap out on, unless you like the idea of removing it and putting new film on over and over.

If you want to do it yourself and save money, spend the extra cash on quality window film and cut it yourself. Youtube has tons of videos on it if you want to learn how.

Thanks for getting back,I just paid $200 to get my Volvo S60 done with %35 all around,I asked the dude how much for the Subie and he said $300 because of 7 windows. I was just kicking around the idea of asking around about the pre-cut e-bay tint's to save a buck for a car that is for toying around in.

Shop around, other nearby cities may have shops that will do it for less.

I'm going to a shop in Milwaukee to have my outback done, $175 for everything, they do quality work and use good film. Here in Madison they'd empty my bank account and take my kidney.

I just saw this thread and thought i would reply. I went with an e-bay company and have had great results from filmvantage. i got a complete kit with 35% on front windows and 25% on rear doors and quarter windows along with the rear. I think when i read the regulation for tint in oregon that wagons fall in same catagory as the SUV's and that you can do darker tint on the back.
You can look for them on e-bay or call joe. hes awsome. i would like tosay i got complete kit for around 100+ and did the install my self.
It wasnt to hard watched a few you tube videos and the precut tint was perfect fit no trimming or measuring.( I Will say i screwed up the back window as it hard being big and upside down on a wagon. but i contacted Joe at filmvantage and he sent a new one free. ill definatly take it to a tint shop to install) origonally the tint stores wanted 250. for tint and install. hope this helps

i guess tints pricey down there. local guy around here charged me $220 (5 window) to remove my tint and reapply with premium scratch and uv resistant stuff. hes 175 for a sedan 200 for a wagon for the best tint under 10% $20 more for the darker.
anyways i do recommend taking it to a place to apply and to go with premium stuff.
