Sorry she is no subie but she is hot and quick. Tore up several wrx's at the drags and with the suspension mods I have been able to take a few in the twisties, for an FF she darn near oversteers now off throttle! Very luxurious car for the coin. she dynos right now at 231whp / 200ft lbs. Best 1/4 mile on 18" wheels is a 14.336. I will be upping the hp with yet more boost "currently 9.5 psi", and putting on some real tires not blingy ones and going for a high 13. Not bad for a scion hehe.

I'm not much of a TC guy but that looks very nice, well done! The supercharger is pimp.

What's the max boost on the TRD charger?

I like these cars - they really should make a tC in a 4-door. Now that I would buy.

The trd sc is actually nothing more than a vortech f-trim. She can boost to 20 psi if spun up correctly. I will be running her at 10.5 psi soon with a little aftermarket management. On the dyno I let off on that run 250 rpm early which should have netted me another 3-4whp. Will be going back soon for another run when I finish the custom intake Hopfully I can run her into the low to mid 240's whp wise. Drivetrain loss is calculated at a tiny 13% on this transmission so knowing that I should end up with a 270 crank hp car. Plenty for me as she is more show than go really.

Also the torque goes tabletop flat for the TRD fuel map yanks timing out of the engine all the way until redline which is why she levels off and stays that way. If I add timing to her I can net another 20ft lbs out of it but I am running on the very very safe side right now!

Holy Pulley Shaft Batman!

I always liked the looks of the tC....its sharp, even more so for a 'cheap' ride.

Nice work on the power you've got on it!

edit: what about the tranny?

I'm not up on info for these so please excuse me...

Is the vortec a factory option or a kit?
Does the tc have a LSD?

I installed the TRD kit myself. It was purchased from toyota. Car does not have an lsd right now but this month quafe is supposed to start selling one for us tc guys. I will be one of the first to have one on order as wheel spin through the top of 3rd gear can be an issues somtimes haha!

Yes she did start out at a cheap ride, now I have a stupid amount of money in it. When I get time tonight I will list up all the mods she has... It is a VERY long list *LOL*! I think I am into her close to $29K retail wise in audio, wheels, performance, handeling + tons of other mods Of course I did not pay retail but retail is a fun number to toss around :)

Got my gauges all done "new led's" sorry I did not take an original pic, but the gauge color is butt ugly pumpkin orange stock. I do not have my autometers in, but they will match as well! They are the new ultralite version 2 that use white led's to backlite the numbers!

Super bling batman! Below this pic is a slightly updated engine bay pic with the new greddy front strut brace....

Got the mount for the gauges done "also the surround for the deck". Was a huge pain... Will let the pics show what I did... Was allot harder than it looks, the carbon fiber is actually curved with the console! Made it a pita to put it all together. Also the deck is mounted to the oem steel mounts, so I had to basically aim it perfectly, get the depth perfect on the mount by custom drilling it and them pop on the console / cover... Anyways here ya go! I love it...

Also those gauges are just in for the moch up, I am useing Autometer ultralite version 2 gauges that will match the dash and are in silver... Will have boost, oil pressure and pyro.

Hey guys! Man have been swamped with work and travel, I managned to nail a FIRST place in the extreme category at the Roswell Alien national car show! And I also managed to nail a FIRST place, hottest mild class scion at Hot Import Nights Phoenix!! Car is well on it's way to nail down a magazine spot with luck as I have won 2 out of two shows so far with stiff competition!

Here are some links to the gallery's of the two shows...

i really really like it, my friend used to have one of these, it was one of the red ones. like a limited production with a special bright red paint? i dont really know the details it was pretty tho. (absolutely red IIRC) till he trashed it.... but in doing so he saved a deer's life, and maybe his own, i have seen some nasty pics of cars that hit deer at speed. he instead swerved and hit an embankment :-(

Uhm, no haha. Stock srt4's yes, Stock wrx's with ease, cobalts are cake, new civic si's are total cake, mustang gt's have nailed a few on camera with no prob... Car is quick and fun, not fast :) When I hit 350, Then I will be all smiles.

Wiscon_Mark
11-03-2006, 11:20 PM
252whp?

An STi makes 230whp, tops. And you have him on weight. Assuming you don't try to drag him with bald tires, and aren't incompetent at driving (I sincerely doubt that) you'll smoke him in a drag.

Same goes for the EVO, they're equally quick and disadvantaged with AWD & weight.

Drivetrain loss sucks sometimes.

Until winter comes ;)

A well driven SRT-4 > an STi in a straight line race.

Really, never raced one. The darn evo's though at firebird rock high 12's with hardcore launches. My issues is off the line traction. I spin through the top of 3rd. It is SOOO hard to launch the tc without an LSD "coming soon" From 20mph roll the car is a very fun. FWD has it's massive limits...

I think the next car I plan to fully build is a 99-00 impreza 2.5rs but do a full sti conversion to it and of course upgrades. One of my dream cars.

My buddies srt-4 with a factory stage 3 upgrade and some goodies just layed down 354whp yesterday, his car is killer to drive. But does not have near the responce of my tc. I can own him at the autox.

Good choice

Get yourself some drag radials. You won't have launching issues anymore, and you'll be running some good times.

Evos don't run 12s stock. But it doesn't take much to get them there. Their engine is pretty darn responsive to mods.

But I wouldn't get one because of two words:

Crank Walk.

thought they fixed the crank walk issues with the 4g63 later revisions? Also I have watched an off the showroom lancer stripped edition whatever it is, bone stock run a 12.8 at firebird. Thought the guy was going to kill it launching it that hard though.

they tend to go through clutches quickly, yes.

Nope, the crank walk issue isn't fixed. Several Evo owners ran into it after about 80k miles.

Also took home 1st place at Nopi PHX in the toyota, lexus, scion custom category which is the hardest category :)
