jdm sf5 turbo engine a/t in bg5

Ok,since i had my car for a month already, i have been bugged by the engine suddenly dying on me. It occured while i was braking, cruising, just slowing them. basically when i lift my foot of the throttle, sometimes it just goes dead. sometimes it doesnt happen.

so far i have done the following:
cleaned MAF sensor, camshaft and crankshaft sensor
changed idle up motor (used)
throttle body is still clean.

any thoughts??? mechanic told me to change camshaft sensor. i will be doing this, but maybe anyone here got the same prob before.

yeah. my buddys 95 legacy used to do this after he did all you said, he turned it to me, i changed mas air sensor, cam sensor and it still did it, later i discovered that it was the ignition loosing signal. so we changed that out.. he had to have a key for the door and one for the ignition...

^^Can't a competent locksmith rekey a brand new ignition?

does your friend's car immediately start once it dies while the car is still moving? mine does so if it is the same as with your friend, i might have the ignition checked and changed if ever.

Noticed something in your sig Chrisboy, and to go back to the original idea of engine swap... SF9 turbo? No such thing exsisted... SF's are from 97-00, long before the EJ25 Turbo engine even exsisted. SF turbo's were all SF5 2L's

As for the SF5 turbo engine, they are the humble "late late" EJ20G, on par with the late EJ20H. The engines are essentially the same as your standard late BG (BG5B and C, or 'facelift') GT engine, from grey tops to AFM. Only one is TT, the other ST.

The conversion is only possible if you have a manual BG5B or C though.

As for engine dopping out, doesn't sound like it's the engines fault at all, as already mentioned here.

Hey Reuben, didn't notice that you posted something. Yup i researched about it and it seems that i was wrong, same as the previous owner. it is really from an sf5. Thanks for the heads up.

Engine dying is ok now. Apparently there was something wrong in the wiring, so I brought it to my trusted shop where he fixed the wiring.
