I've been on the fence about a set of adjustable timing belt idlers to get my cams back into spec on my hybrid engine.
but I don't know if it's worth it, right now I'm running a thin .027" head gasket and the heads have been shaved a ton (I'm willing to bet >.04" ) because they were warped from a head gasket failure, so the cam timing is both advanced and retarded, on the driver and passenger sides respectively by around 3 degrees. In theory this means my torque curve is wider and lower, because retarding a cam shaft lowers the power band and advancing shifts it higher in the rev range. The two sides of the engine aren't in time with each other so one side of the engine is making a little more power down low and the other is making a little more up high but not as much as if they were in time. It runs great and put down a "fuzzy math" 180 crank hp on the dyno, but if there is some easy power to make from one bolt on that I've omitted I'm for it.
