From Nova Scotia CANADA
owner of a 2003 Outback
since Aug 2011
love the 5 speed
the comfort, and wagon style
:smt008 I just wanted to say hello
I have had problems from the get go,
but think.... the dealer was the LEMON
not the Car's fault
it made noise from day 1, but was told it was wheel noise scalloped tires...
so we bought new ones... the ride somewhat quieter,
i drove the car for 4 weeks, then was called away for 2 months to another province, so car sat.... ( MMM never a good idea)
hubby don't drive
anyway I get home, and brakes are seized up.... almost to be expected.. but that nose i heard from day one is still there, and I was suspecting transmission
by December 15 th, yep indeed.we were car less..
and my 2003 outback need to have a new or partly rebuild trans to the tune of $ 1900 that's for parts and labor eh!!!??
so I was back on the road again,
thankfully enjoying my wheels
shes RED by the WAY>>> :smt010
alwasy dreamed of owing a red car...
anway back to my introduction
the rear end noise is always there.....
i thought wheel bearing?
differential?? maybe
or is the trany going again?
infact
the part that let go
was a metal peice inside the viscus clutch,.. it looks like a rubber seal, but is metal
anywayit was twisted & turned
and well some gear got broken off teeth
as for teh noise now
im still hearing that familiar noise
and tongiht
something sleipped, fell of my car, sounded like metal dragging on pavement...
we live on a hill
so i have to go from second and into a tight corner turn into driveway i go into first..
then i feel the shifter...
its loose, loosely weird
and I' thinking OMG
need to park it
need to roll to stop
so I did
its parked
and I suspect i will need a tow in the morning
help
answers welcomes please
- sincerely
