the ej22t heads arent great. most people swap them out to 2.5 n/a heads

If you have an EJ22 or EJ22T block, put some EJ25 heads on for a better overall motor. :) The EJ25 head flows way better than the 22 or 22T does.

the ports are smaller and the cams are smaller and not overlapped. A downgrade.

I got some DOHC EJ25 heads for sale...plus an EJ25 SOHC shortie too.

$400 for the lot, but you'd have to come pick up, or wait until May 20 when I'll be in Pittsburgh visiting IKEA.

My zipcode is OH 44095.

The EJ25 SOHC has an oil pan tapped for a turbo kit - it was previously boosted before I got it. It has about 88,000 miles.

The SOHC heads were sold separately, and I picked up a set of DOHC ones to build a hybrid engine, with an approximate 11.2:1 compression ratio.

Everything looks good - you might want to dismantle the stuff and give everything a good clean, but all the mating surfaces are clean and scratch-free.

Here's a couple of pics:

I've kept everything stored in a humidity free environment, and off the ground (the cold concrete during winter can cause spot cracking in some metals).

I just don't want to bother building a hybrid engine now. :)

Not fussed really.

Out of interest, what would you offer?

grrrrr why can't we live in the same country, I'd drive to you now to buy/collect :( don't suppose you could find out shipping rate could you, if you would ship? Finding a proper 2.5 over here is only available at silly money ($5k + and thats just a short block)

Nah, wouldn't happen - too much effort for a single person to crate up and ship over - shipping would probably bump the price up to what you'd pay locally in the UK, and then there'd be no warranty.

just have to ask how well the coolant and oil passages line up does anyone know?

I'm pretty sure the oil and coolant passages line up pretty well on most of the blocks and heads. The air passages could use a portmatch IIRC, but will still function.
