So my car has had the check engine light on now prob. since I've own the car a couple years back, can't remember if its always been on. Anyway, IN now makes it if you have a check engine light on u fail emissions. I wnet to autozone and the code read as p0106, I'll go to another one to double checked cause dude acted as if he didnt know what he was doing. I've read and searched articles and most say its most likely a hose or dirt. How should I go about checking for the cause. The car is a 96 L wag with a 95 engine, my previous leg engine. The 96 engine blew, so I was thinking the oil got into the MAF.
Going to the shop is my last result cause I'm lacking on funds right now.

Vacuum hoses are miss-configured this is very common after a engine swap has being performed. Download a copy of the factory service manual for your engine year located in my sig or the literature / manual section. Should take about 5-20 mins to track down the miss-config hose setup.
