Looking for Lowering Springs

I posted a while back that a friend gave me his stock suspension from his '04 impreza, I was told that it would work on my car with some sagging, now Im looking to use the strut's but I wanna use lowering springs on them, is this a good Idea or should I try and get springs for my struts instead of the ones I wanna put on my leggy ?

Well, there is absolutely nothing wrong with the ride height on standard '04 STi shocks and springs. I've got the saggy butt spacer in my BG, and this is what it looks like pretty much:

It's effectively the same as the standard GTB ride height, meaning suspension geometry is essentially perfect for handling. Any lower and you need to consider control arm spacers, to keep them pointing down, rather than up.

I like to get chassis specific springs... engine configurations and drivetrain make a big difference. But that's just me. I don't want to have to remember what hybrid parts bin I have on my car when it comes time to repair or replace.

If you have a USDM Legacy, the back end will sag with 04 Impreza struts and springs. If you got a pair of lowering springs for the fronts only, that might even it out. Hard to say.

3. If you have a BD/BG/BK Legacy which is what the GD suspensions swap over to you need to keep this in mind:

While 02-07 GD Impreza struts/springs/tophats drop right into the BD/BG/BK the 04-07 models had tapered springs and consequently different tophats top match the smaller top of the spring. The strut is unchanged. So if you get Legacy specific lowering springs (ie: H&R) you'll need the Legacy specific tophats/perches to go along with those springs.

Oh ok , well I have a JDM BG,I guess I'll just slap the suspension on the leggy and see what happens oh and where can I find some saggy butt spacers ? LOL for some reason Saying "Saggy Butt" makes me laugh every time

A JDM BG could mean a non-turbo, turbo or twin turbo. All of those engine configurations actually change the perceptible ride height...

What about WRX STI 04-07 struts/springs? I heard it would not fit 2nd gen.

STi 04 struts/springs will. The STi MY05 changed some things in the hubs & frame resulting in a different strut design that cannot work without modification to the car. So 04 stuff is the only stuff that'll work. Same rules as the WRX: a complete swap is best, but you need to match the strut tops to the springs no matter what.
