I'm swapping a JDM 2.5 in my 1997 Legacy Outback GT.
It started with a bit of gas in the throttle body, no real problem, but wouldn't continue to run.
We put about 7 gallons in the tank, and it is showing about 1/4 tank so there is enough gas that it won't think it is still empty.
No gas was coming out of the filter. No gas was getting to the filter.
I cannot find a fuse to pump listed in the Haynes, or the owner's manual. Is there one?
Does the fuel pump relay ever go bad? Is there a way to test it? And why did they put it so far up in the instrument panel that you have to take stuff off to see it, let alone reach it? ;)
We plan on blowing air through the fuel and return line to make sure they haven't been clogged by gas that has decided to not remain in a liquid state.
Assuming everything above is good, we'll take out the fuel pump and test it with the battery to see if it is pumping anything.
There is also a problem with the marker lights? staying on even after the key has been removed, I don't know that the two issues are related, but just in case, I thought I'd mention it.
