Not really sure if they can or not. Do you know when it started turning on (like after new brakes were put on, etc)?

Well it turned on like awhile back at the beginning og the year. Along with that I could hear a noise like a tiny motor or somethng when pressing on my brakes and at the same time there would be tension on the brake pettal for a few seconds and then it goes about to normal. I eventually took out the big black fuse with the plus at the top and it made that noise I was hearing stop but my ABS light as been on ever since even if both fuses are out.

An ABS light can be on for a number of reasons.

-Bad sensor
-bad pump
-bad wheel bearing

The scanners that parts stores have I dont think are that technical, but they might be. If your light is on but your car drives fine, dont worry about it. It just means that you no longer have a car with ABS. I disable it when it snows in the winter because I can drive better without it.

Being where you're living, you probably don't need ABS anyways.

Yeah By what it was doing when both fuses were in I have a feeling it's a bad pump but it would be cool to just be a sensor, but yeah That's exactly what I was trying to do was to disconnect it but mainly to get rid of the light. I do drive well in any weather condition but the only thing id need it for is rain but me being slammed and loving to car so much that still should be a problem.

Mark, depending on the year of your Legacy, the ABS computer could be under your passenger front seat. In my car, all I had to do was go for a test drive to get the ABS light to turn on, move that seat all the way up, and count the blinks on the ABS computer's LED. There was a tab cut out on my carpet for that light.

I'm pretty sure this isn't my year. Mine is a 95 LSI and plus even so this will be a bitch because for some reason my passenger seat is stuck as far back as it will go.

You'll need a shop with a proper diagnostic computer to pull the codes. Or the Subaru dealership with their Subaru Select monitor.

Oh really? I may do this eventually, I want to know what had gone bad.
