I bought some WRX seats for my BD a while ago and the front seats bolt in fine, apart from them using 4 instead of 5 bolts as we know. The back seats are a different story. The bottom bolts in fine and is a little short as expected. However the back do not line up at all as the pictures indicate. This got me thinking that they might be wagon seats. Also I have no idea what model they are from.

As you can see the brackets are on the side, rather than the middle where my liberty/legacy ones went

Those are wagon seats.
My guess is that they are from a GF8 WRX STi from 2000 (an Impreza STI wagon).

Edit. I think that the bottom of the seat - the horizontal part - is from a sedan, while the top (vertical) is from a wagon. In the Impreza wagon, stock, the seat bottom flips up and forward, and the seat back folds down and forward, creating a flat floor from the hatch to the front seats - same as the Legacy.

I can't tell from your pics if the seat bottom does this, but if it doesn't, then you have a hybrid seat set.

Does it have some kind of hinge where it bolts into the car? Because from memory there was something like that on the bottom part.

Thanks for that, will have to investigate some sedan rears then

The wagon rear seats bolt at the base, behind where your butt would be. They have a hinge. The seat bottom hinges behind where your calf would be if you were sitting in the car.

Well, the '00 model was a GD, and the wagon GF STi ('95~'99) had grey back seats (front seats were red accented though...who know why). The sedan had red rear seats. I promise.
I can verify that those seats are GC STi rear seats.

Yep that fits the description exactly.

Really they give Japan a rear fold seat and for the USDM market they say "le fuck guys, those bloody american's don't need a rear fold seat" :smt013

Stupid 2.5rs with no rear fold seat :smt021

Depends on the manufacture location - but are you 100% sure in saying that the GD STi had fold down rear seats? ie. 60/40 split? From my information, the GD STi only had a pass through. The only STi that had a 60/40 split was the GF STi wagon.

I was saying two separate statements.
1) The '00 model was a GD (and since were're talking about wagons, I should've said GG)
2) The GF STI had grey seats (at least, that's what I've found).

I was implying that the seats in the picture were not from a '00 model, and that they must be sedan (although OP says they have hinges...)

The 00 Model in NZ was a GC or GF also - depending on the MONTH of manufacture. At anyrate, these are wagon seats.

They might have been recovered at some point for use in a GF Impreza wagon, to match a set of STi seats.

We won't really know for sure, except that they are wagon seats because of the folding mechanism and hinging.
