Hi there, I wanted to know if the FXT 2008 suspension would fit bolt on my Legacy Outback wagon 1998? And if it does, would it sit higher than the Outback?(I rather have my OB lifted than lowered) I am looking at these actually,

I'm sure the fronts will fit, but not positive about the rears. If I had to guess, I would say that they would fit.

I have forester suspension (04) on my 98 wagon, and the lift was about 1" (2.5cm) and XT stuff is even better: so look for firmer (better) ride quality and 1 1/2" -2" (3.7cm-5cm) lift.

Based on what Garrison said, yes it should. 08 is still the SG chassis.

I see, i'm just worried about the rear..but why would the Forester suspension fit but not the 00-04 Outback? (rear)

The BE/BH in 2000 started having instead of all 4 McPherson struts had a coilover style strut to allow the rear to be wider for cargo room. Hence why the rears on BEs and also newer generation Legacies/Outbacks can not utilize Impreza suspension other than the fronts.

BD/BG/BK suspension is different in the rear than the BE/BH models - they have a Multilink rear suspension.

Mark, you do know that 2nd gen is also a 'multilink' right? Just a different style.

That being said, I would say go for it and let us see your findings! :smt023 I tried 2011 rear brakes to find out thy wont work, but I was only out $50 and was worth the try...

Never heard it referred to as one, good to know.

It would be nice to have all that extra space the shorter struts/springs on the BE/BH rears give you...

SG-GD-BD struts/springs/tophats are all interchangeable if you get the full assembly, yes.

Sometimes spring tops might vary and you'd need to match the tophats, but if you're just putting what's pictured above, you shouldn't have an issue.

Just make sure you get it aligned after :smt023

just a little update on this, I bought 4 Bilstein suspension for 300$ (front have some aftermarket spring on them like purple spring can't read the brand though but its something Japan) I don't know it they were on a wagon or sedan though but I don't see any ''sagging butt'' or whatever you guys may call it, but I have a small feeling that the front sits a tad lower than the rear or it might just be me, from the outside it seems well balanced, the drop is perfect, handles much better too! well i'm happy with the result!

pics to come :)
