just bought another subaru

so i just bought a 1999 outback limited, with a 5 speed. im pretty happy, its in amazing shape, but it has a bad motor in it. so i plan on taking the EJ25D out of my car, and putting it in this car, and my car will be engineless until i finish up my swap, which should hopfully be soon. only paid 650 bucks for it. then we will be selling my wifes OBXT. im pretty stoked on it.

Ok... just making sure... I love that year Runner. 3.4's are awesome motors! My brother in law has one with 200K and my brother has a T-100 4x4 with 300+K.... Good stuff!

You overheated a 5vz 3.4?! huh... With all the ones I have dealt with I have never seen one overheat. My brother burned a valve from being a bonehead, but thats it.

You overheated a 5vz 3.4?! huh... With all the ones I have dealt with I have never seen one overheat. My brother burned a valve from being a bonehead, but thats it.

nah i was meaning the engine itself. normal cars operating temp is usually 185-205 degrees thats ideal. toyotas are usually 195-215 degrees.
infact, if you use low quality oil in a toyotas they oil can flash off sometimes because they usually have higher oil temps.

Aw yes... This is true! Well, more so with some then others. 22R's are bulit proof, unless you give one to me! :grin: I blew up 2 of them, but one was my 1st rebuild and the other was a 300K wheeler motor! haha

But yeah, bad fluids do bad things.

So I spent Saturday putting new struts on our 06 outback doing an oil change on the 4runner, pulling engine and trans from our 99 outback, and pulling the engine and trans from my 95, then putting the trans in the 99

Just started it up. :) however, I backed out on the turbo for now as the turbo makes it harder to pass emissions. So perhaps I might after it passes but my buddy wants my turbo set up, and I could use some money for coil overs.
