yep, im running low and the AT oil temp is blinking.

so what fluid do you guys recomend?
ive heard Pennzoil Synchromesh and Lucas oil. which one is the better of the two?

I would go with either Lucas or Redline products and stay away from any Pennzoil products

oh, Lubeguard ATF is very highly reccomended by many (esp. Huffer) too.

it should say in your owner's manual. It's something crazy like 8 quarts.

I used Quaker State, and Mobil.

And yes, I used Lubegard ATF Protectant, and it cured my woes (torque bind).

About 8qts will work, the entire transmission takes about 10qts, but you won't drain that much. I drained mine twice (within a week) to dump out as much of the old fluid as I could.

FWIW, I liked Quaker State better than Mobil - better price and same quality.

The drain hole for the AT is on the rear section of the pan.
You should also check your front diff level too.

Oh yes, the Lubegard also lowers the overall temp of the transmission, thus prolonging it's life.

I've done it today, and bought and use Mobil 1 synthetic.

I've only changed the AT transmission fluid. Going to do the front and rear differential later next week.

but, i have a problem. my AT Temp lamp is on ever since this week. and now It's flashing 16 times continously. It doesn't pause between blinks, Just a continous blinking for 16 times and stop. This only happens when the engine is started.

any clues?

Mine sometimes does that during winter - the cold plays havoc with my car sometimes.
I checked my fluid level, and no problem - so I just drove it gently until the fluid warmed up enough.

A flashing AT Temp light isn't uncommon on a higher mileage vehicle.
You only have a problem if the light is consistent on startups, or continuously illuminated.

As I mentioned, have you checked your level when cold, and warm?

Sometimes the light will flash on startup if the fluid is too cold to circulate quickly, but it will go out pretty quick if there isn't anything to worry about.

It's a TEMPERATURE warning light, that's all. So make sure the fluid in there is the right grade, right spec, and at the right level, and you're fine.

Hell, reset the ECU if you want.

At least its not "4.1" quarts like my car demands. >_< WTF?! Why 4.1? Why not 3.9 quarts? That way, I could get 4 1 quart bottles and have a little left over, instead of getting 5 and only using 1/10th of one! O_O

its full, ive used like 4 1/2 qrts almost.

and i have check on warm days and damp days. seems to be on the right level.
