Aftermarket radiators

Slightly more spirited drive home last night, (I dislike tailgaters, especially at 70 in a 35...) and when I got home I smelled coolant. I popped the hood and found a 4-5" long crack in the plastic end of the radiator. I didn't lose much and the temp gauge stayed normal, but I'm not gonna drive it again until I've got a new radiator.

I'd like to rid myself of the plastic end pieces, and I've read about a few all-aluminum radiators on here. I haven't been able to find any deals on the Mishimoto and $350 is a bit steep, though they have a legacy model now that drops right in and looks to use the factory overflow container. I looked into cxracing on ebay and the 93-00 impreza one they sell seems to fit the bill at $150 with possible relocation of the mount points on my BG. Does anybody know if I can use the factory overflow? (it looks like the connection is on the passenger side.)

Does anyone have experience with the Prime Choice radiator on ebay? It looks like it might be all aluminum but is hard to tell from the auction.

Any other choices available? Super high cooling performance isn't really necessary as there are no plans to make much more power than stock. Anybody in Colorado that has a stock one laying around I can use until I get a nice one?

Single row! Have you thought about putting in a BC or BE radiator and just remaking the lower mounting brackets and changing the upper hose?

Super cheap on ebay now.. under $190 shipped for a Dual row all aluminium rad. CXRacing / Mishimoto / unknown.

What I'm finding is that the sub-$200 all-aluminum ones on Ebay are for the impreza and don't have the radiator cap on the radiator which would require a pressurized overflow container, which I found but would run another $70 to $100+. Might go that route anyway if I continue to strike out on a deal on a Mishimoto.

The BC rad idea sounds interesting. I've read of height issues which may be hard to deal with if I have to hack into my crossmember. Also, would require new fans as the mounting is not the same as mine. If It fits and I can keep the total cost under $250, that is definitely in the running.

Like i said before. BC or BE. The BC rads are made by Koyo which is hands down the best in quality control however the BE (Gen 3) listed here

How can you really go wrong. Complete with Rad Cap and dual row + aluminium end tanks.

Bataru just bought one of these for his EJ207 swap and the quality seems good.. havn't abused it yet but time will tell.

The CXRacing units for the Impreza pre-2001 are like you said non rad cap and need a separate tank which can be had for $20 off Nasioc or 25rs.com but that adds to the complexity of things.
