New member, Hello and help, BH5 vacuum pipes to no where?

Hello to all and thanks for this great site. Have just bought my first Subaru, 2000 BH5 wagon, to replace a long suffering abused and neglected Mazda. I picked it up very cheap because of a low engine power issue. Having read throught these technical forums, it seems that the vacuum lines are a source many problems. I decided to work through these, checking and cleaning before going deeper. I noticed two things. There are two hoses that go no where. Are they vents or is a valve missing? http://s1268.photobucket.com/albums/jj564/mikeinHK/ Second, I could not see a valve between the brake booster and the manifold. Is this correct?

Those look like they had something to do with the BPV. Was there a boost gauge installed at some point? It looks like someone may have installed one and put in their own vacuum lines.

No I don't think so. The car has had only two owners before me and appears completely stock.

Have you triEd following them down to where they come from? I can't seem to recognize those hoses being on my car. I'll check it out tomorrow when the sun is up.

Tried to follow them but can't see with out pulling parts off. may do this saturday.
