I am looking at oil pump options for my new frankenmotor. Is a 10mm or 11mm too big? I thought I remember reading people having problems with bigger oil pumps on our N/A's

Go with the stock one your engine calls for.

Iirc
2.2 had 7mm
2.5sohc had 9mm
2.5/2.0 dohc na or turbo till 07 had 10mm
It all depends on what your doing to the motor

The ej22t and ej25d's came with 10mm's. But the 22t's had piston oil squirters that needed the extra flow. Are you using sohc or dohc heads? If sohc I'd go with your stock size, dohc I'd do 10mm, for no other reason than subaru "always" (I'm sure someone will provide an exception, lol) paired non-avcs DOHC's with 10mm's.

Will the 10mm oil pump bolt right up to the 2.2 block? Mike as you know I'm putting the DOHC 2.5 heads and a td04 on my car so I could use the extra flow and what year/model should I search for?

All of the oil pumps are interchangable. But do not go larger than 10mm.

The presence of oil squirters on the EJ22t is somewhat of mystery. Some people claim theirs had them, others deny that they ever came from the factory in the first place.

If you're using the HLA buckets, which need extra oil pressure, I'd use the 10mm. Otherwise go with the 9.

Contact outfont motorsports, they have 10mm rebuilds for a good deal. Used them three times not had any issues, both stock rebuild and mild NA builds

The 96EJ25D came with a factory 10mm pump. So I am going to reuse that.

Was there anything wrong with the ej25d that you're getting the pump from?

Burnt valve in Cyl 3 and warn piston rings. Just had all the machine work done today. They inspected the block and power honed. Cleaned my pistons. Polished the crank and I picked up some ACL Race Bearings for the Mains and Rods.
