Floating Fuel Guage Is Annoying!!

Im curious if anyone else seems to have a floating fuel gauge like i do...For example yesterday i was at a half tank (the guage said) and then i put $10 bucks in and as im stopped it is at the three quarter full mark at the gas station after the fill,then moving along on the road a few miles it is just a tick over the half mark again on the guage,i go a little further park go in a store come back out start it up and the guage reads a half tank again,it seems to only fluctuate in quaters for any amount of fuel i have in the tank especially when im at a quarter tank because it scares me and makes me think im empty at times. Im not sure if my 95 Legacy has a fuel light when im empty because i never saw it go on (if it has one)Thanks people.... :smt017

Your fuel sender is going out. Replace it, they sit in the tank and are easily accessible in the wagons.

Napa's website doesn't show it, but their search isn't nearly as good as going in and asking.

You'll certainly be able to get it at a dealership.

And yes, you do have a (low) fuel light.
