View Full Version : It's time to for some new wheels and tires for my BE. :)

So I've narrowed down what wheels I want to buy and the tire sizes that I'd like to wrap them around with. But what I'd like to know is if they'll fit with either my stock suspension (if I really wanted these wheels on) or with my recently purchased and soon to be installed H&R lowering springs and KYB GR2s combo.
I currently roll on 17X7 Enkei RS-Vs but I think the BE would look tons better with 18s. I'd like to know if 18X7.5 et48 RPF1s would tuck nicely in the wheel wells without any fender work wrapped around 225/40/18 tires for comfort and decent drive-ability. I'm just trying to achieve the flush look, with no wheel tuck whatsoever. I know it sounds like a longshot so I may push the tire size down a bit to either one of the following below, despite not being the biggest fan of tire stretch:
-215/40
-215/35
-225/35
Any help will be appreciated! :smt023

I have 18s on my BE with the Bilstein struts. I bought them used with 215/35 on them and I hate them.
No interference or rubbing issues, just hate hitting bumps and not a fan of the stretched Eurotrash look.
I'm looking for 225/45 to replace them. I've seen the same size XXR rims with 225's on a 2005 Sti and there are no rubbing issues, I'm hoping that's a good sign I can pull it off on my Leggy
Just my opinion: Try to get a higher profile sidewall if you can, you'll be happier for it...

These do not belong together. You can have one or the other.

Highly likely I'll rub huh? :smt013

Aren't STi fender wells a little deeper though?
And thanks, I'd like my sidewall to be either 40 or 45. But then I might have to sacrifice wheel diameter to 17", but that's straying from my goal.
Any 18" wheel size (width and offset too) and tire size recommendations that will accommodate my lowering setup?

If you get larger rims you may have to recalibrate your speedometer. I can link a good youtube video on how to do this if need be.

This is kind of a generalization.
http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html <---That's a good calculator to compare tire sizes and how far off your speedo will go.

No, it means they will fit correctly, but they won't be "flush".
