my brother blew his motor

so my brother blew his motor on the way from Oregon to California. HG's blew now the car wont even start. it is the 99 SUS thaqt the motor blew in. i am wondering since my outback got totaled and the motor is still good will the 2.5 from my 98 Outback work in his 99 SUS? i am trying to talk my brothers into buying the car back from the auto auction and pulling the motor from my outback and putting it in the sus if that will work. please let me know if that would work.

I think the engine should work. Anything else different between the two cars (Auto vs Manual)?

The engines will swap over. I put a 98 ej25d in my old 99 SUS. He should reuse his intake manifold due to minor differences.

the OBK was an automatic and the SUS has a 5-speed swap.

What Mike said is 100% spot on. Re-use your old intake manifold and wiring harness and you're good to go!

As for the auto/5-speed just swap the Flexplate/torque converter from the old motor on to the new one.
