BG auto to manual swap driveshaft question

Im picking up a JDM wrx/sti trans(not sure which, all i know is that its off a clip that had a ej20k, and its 4.444). I need to know if a driveshaft from a first gen legacy will fit, or if i have to go out and buy a 2nd gen manual driveshaft

Nope it wont fit. The carrier bearing (u-joint) mounting points are different.

You can use a 95-99 or 00-04 possibly a 05-09 shaft from any 5MT legacy.

Just curious, what difference is there between the driveshaft from a 2nd gen auto and a 2nd gen 5spd?

Front half of the 4eat is shorter then 5mt. But the 6mt is the same size as the 4eat.

So in other words if it came from an auto it wont fit trying to install it in a 5spd lego/impreza? I have someone looking to buy a driveshaft but Im not sure whether the one I have came from a 4eat or 5mt (it was in a parts load, with a couple trannys in the mix of things)

5MT's are usually 50+ inches.. Cant really help you here
