So I was pulling the engine to do a 200,000 mile service, and I followed the FSM instructions on getting it out. I unbolted the torque converter from the flex plate, and as I pulled the engine out, the torque converter came with it. It didn't make it all the way out, but it did start leaking fluid. I slid it back in as best as I could for the moment, and continued pulling the motor. My question is, did I damage the torque converter or the seal? I also know that getting the torque converter back in can damage the pump, and seeing as this transmission has maybe 15000 miles on the rebuild I sure as hell hope I didn't ruin anything.

would replace the seal, and make sure the converter is in all the way. IIRC you need to spin it till you hear 3 "clicking" noises. just make sure its in all the way or you could damage the pump

So is it supposed to leak fluid when it comes out? Or is that a sign of the seal being bad for sure?

yes. torque converters tend to leak fluid when removed. the seal might not be bad, just some times the get damaged if the TC gets pulled out with the engine.
