impreza/legacy strut tower bars?

I heard it rumored that the front strut tower bar for a 94-01 impreza will fit on the 2nd gen legacy. Before I go and make any stupid purchases I just want to verify that someone else has heard this, and also wondering if anyone has seen a rear tower bar to fit the legacy wagon?

My friends 99 impreza handled noticably different after installing his front and rear tower bars. I was impressed with the improvement and really want to see if I can get that out of my wagon whether its before or after I lower it in the spring.

yes the GC impreza's front strut tower bar will fit the 2nd gen legacy. Get the wrx's (02-07) rear strut bar for the rear. The GC uses different rear tophat

Okay and theres no difference getting the wrx rear bar since I have a wagon? Didnt know if thatd effect it at all

you might have to watch with the rear. my buddy has an obs and the sedan/coupe rear strut bar didnt fit so he got one specifically for a wagon

If he bought a WRX rear bar it doesn't fit because the OBS/RS's strut mounts are spaced differently then the WRX/Legacy.

02-07 RS/WRX/STi rear strut bars do fit the Gen 2 Legacy BD/BK/BG. Depending on who made the bar you may have to "slot" the bar to allow a few extra millimetres for the correct fitment. Wagon specific bars are hinged which allow removal when loading items into the trunk.

I bought this. It look about 15 mins to install. You will have to trim the plastic strut cover things if you want to put them back on.
