3rd gen lift kit

I already did some research on lifting my fiance's 3rd gen legacy outback. No the forester strut/springs wont work (at least for the rear) and they do make spacers that go on top of the struts and there are also king spring/some aftermarket strut i cant remember combo that'll lift it but I'm wondering if there's anything cheaper? she wants to achieve a 2" lift

Here is a difficult but proper method to raise a BE/BH.

1) Install BE/BH Outback subframe spacers (all the spacers!! even for the transmission x-member)
2) Install BE/BH Outback/Baja shocks and springs. Shock looks to be the same for Outback/Baja .. spring seems to be specific.
---> or KYB replacements for Outback/Baja

This should give you a 2" increase but if you want

3) Install Subtle 1" spacers w/ extended studs.

and add to that some 27" tall tires and you'll have about 4" of total lift...

Chuck, she already has an Outback though...shouldn't they already be installed? Or are you suggesting installing a second set?

I like Ben's suggestion - big knobby tires would lift it and look good.

I guess I'll have to start saving money. Unfortunately this might not get performed for a while now because, get ready for it....she's getting rid of her eclipse to get a wrx :grin:
