Alternator question

will the alternator from 2000 Subaru Legacy 2.5L H4 fit on my 2000 legacy gt 2.0 jdm , and would a 250 amp alt be over kill for a 1000 wat stereo system

As long as the regulator plugs are the same. And probally way more then you need for amp rating for that size load 125 amp would probally be suitable enough with extra power if needed
