Okay, so from what I understand putting the 2.5 sohc block and the 2.2 heads will make a high compression frankenmotor, with decent power output.

On the same token, would it also come to show that a 2.2 block with 2.5 sohc heads would mate to make a low compression animal capable of boosting?

Yes. But you need to consider the internals (crank, rods, pistons ect) of said 2.5 block if it was not originally meant for boost. Correct me if I am wrong but you would probably want a

Okay so now Im thinking on a whole new level....

Tomorrow Im pulling out my old ej22 with 241k and damaged crank from my 98 leggy wagon and dropping in a crutch motor (something to keep going til Im done with a worthy powerplant) And in the same garage is a ej25 out of a 98 forester (missing one head, started being pulled apart due to spun bearing as far as we could tell, nasty knock)

Im wondering would the crank from the 2.5 work in the 2.2 block, kinda like a stroker? If so what other modifications would have to be done? If I could stroke it with the 2.5 crank and send out the 2.2 heads to be worked on (valve job, get the delta cams) in theory it sounds like a fun frankenf**kup but can it work?????

Franken is fun however not what boost is.

I don't have time for down time so boost wasn't for me. Figuring out a way to tune it. Is the biggest pain in the ass.
