So i dont know if this is the right place for this question but here goes. In my owners manual it says i have a 15 gallon fual tank but i have never pumped more the 10 into it. The tank is not damaged. Do i really have that much reserve bellow the E on my guage? Any insight to what you yourselfs have experienced would be of great help?

Your tank is most likely 15.9 gallons. Your sender might be a little off but My light would normally turn on when I had about 3 gallons left... then gradually came on later and later until it stopped.
Maybe yours is doing the opposite?

I am assuming you are driving a 95-99 Legacy.
If thats the case then yes the gauge lies!!! Even in factory fresh condition the fuel gauge will read empty (sitting on the peg) for miles and miles.
Harry is correct you have 15.9(ish) gallons. Its equal to 60 liters up here in the frozen north :-D
I treat each quarter tank as a 100km (62 miles) then anything under the E is bonus :-D
Does your Gas Light come on by any chance?

Sorry, its on a 97 legacy outback. I never really get to that point. iim usually filling up just before it hits E. Was gonna carry a fuel jug with me this fill up and im gonna see how far it goes past E. I dont think i have ever hit the fuel light.
