View Full Version : Exhaust?

I am looking into upgrading the exhaust on my 93 Legacy. I would like to achieve the best flow possible and would also like to get that nice, low boxer growl without it being too loud (I leave for work at 5:00 AM and don't want to wake the neighbors). On the flip side, I don't want anything completely silent. I am looking for something with a sort of subdued growl that lets me know that I'm driving without being obnoxious. Better flow, however, is more important to me than the sound.

Any brand suggestions or suggestions in general?

Thanks!

search for a hushpower muffler, they used it on powerblock once, sounded like it woulda been factory at idle, soon as you hit the gas its like the beast awakens.

I admit, I also heard an ebay twin-loop muffler on a subie (youtube) and it sounded nasty too.

Your beater wagon has a 2.0L engine?

In that case you want to look at enlarging the midpipe to around 2.25", and then install an axleback muffler with the same inlet diameter and no bigger than a 3" tip.

If you want to keep it quiet on starts and idle, install a resonator in the mid pipe
