View Full Version : Shitty clutch, or bad hydraulics?

This is also for my 2000 legacy. A year ago or so I had the motor out for...repairs. In a rush to get the car back together I bought and installed an ebay clutch. Go ahead, shoot me now, I know.. Anywho, since then (I think), I have had a soft/notchy pedal. There is a looseness or play in the pedal until about a 30% stroke. Then, the clutch will fully disengage and the gears shift smoothly. The clutch itself doesn't have a lot of initial grab, but it doesn't slip while driving. Every now and then, while the car is stopped, the pedal will almost get stuck at that 30% area and I have to bump it up.

Is this a clutch, hydraulic or pedal issue? I plan to replace this clutch anyway, but I want to solve this issue as my #1 goal.

Thanks!

Bleed the clutch master/slave and see if pedal feel improves.

I had the same problem with my 2000 BH GT. Ended up replacing the Slave, Master, and soft line. Didnt have another problem, I sold it 7 moths later.
