View Full Version : Outer R front CV boot
1997 Subaru Legacy Outback GT
Is a special tool or socket necessary to replace the boot?

Watch this video, definitely you will need special tool for the band to seal the grease in the boot.

After reading some write-ups about boot replacement, I decided to just drop $50 and put in a whole new cv axle. Doing it tomorrow in fact. It's worth my $50 to have it done quicker so I can work on projects that actually make me money. Just my $0.02.
