Hey guys n gals, just put some new rear KYB Excel's struts and KYB upper strut mounts in the 1998 Outback wagon. I don't remember the coil springs being so close to the body of the car. There is roughly 1/8" clearance or less between the whole strut assembly and the body tub, it doesn't seem right to me but I'm more used to domestic's and they need the extra clearance so maybe I'm imagining things. I compressed the strut assembly to check clearance through out the travel of the whole deal and it didn't get any closer during the range of motion. Just seems too close to me, hope this link to my photobucket works. Am I worried about something that's normal? Photo's should be the first two, the burned up engine pistons are in this album as well.
Thanks for any input, help me feel better about this haha.
