Does anyone know which fuse is for the heated seats in a 99 outback limited? or if they even have one? i just got a cheaper outback and sold my LGT and the heated seats dont work so im hoping its something simple like a fuse. when i push the buttons for them the light doesnt come on. same problem with the heated mirrors.

How long have you waited for them to kick in? One of my seat switches doesn't light up anymore, nor does the heated mirror button, but they still work. The seats sometimes take a while to kick in.

When you say "same problem" with the mirrors, do you mean that they don't work at all, or the lights don't light up? Or both?
Next time you go on a long trip (preferably when its a bit chillier) turn the seats on and see if they heat up eventually. If its more than 10 minutes and you don't feel anything, its probably a bad electrical connection.
Of course, if its a fuse, simple fix. Start checking fuses in the fusebox to the left of the pedals.

I too would like to know this. I've looked in the fuse box and haven't seen anything labeled specifically.

Yeah I mean the light isn't working. Not cold enough to know if the actual mirrors are working or not yet. I was just seeing if anyone knew off hand which fuse it was because there isn't anything labeled for them. Guess ill just check them individually

So I finally found the fuse for the heated seats. You have to take off the panel under the steering wheel and then it is tucked into a mess of wires above the regulator fuse box. And it wasn't blown so now to the fun part of tracking down where things are going wrong

I would get an indicator light (or a voltmeter) and bridge the connections on the fuse with the heated stuff turned on to see if there's current flow. If not, try grounding the voltmeter on something metal (any of the dash bracing should be grounded to the chassis) to check and make sure current is even getting to that fuse link.

well i tried the wires going into the buttons, the fuse and the wires under the seats and they were all getting power. suppose this means that the elements are burnt out and Im SOL huh?

As stated, it could just mean the indicator lights in the switches are blown out. I had to replace most of the bulbs when I picked up my Leggy 4yrs ago.
Hit the seat switch and leave it on high heat, 5mins and you'll feel the difference

Anyone have a wiring diagram for heated seats. I have them hooked up. They have power, but are constantly on. Here is a photo of the wiring from the switches to the harness. Any help would be greatly appreciated.https://sl-i.net/FORUM/images/imported/2014/01/image-2.jpg (http://s1049.photobucket.com/user/Blackduke77/media/image.jpg.html)

Thanks for the wiring schematic. It was a very dangerous job.
