So my wrx is going to be delivered tomorrow at 5am unless something major happens to the other party. After almost a year I'm finally getting it and I'm both excited and nervous. Nervous because he didn't verify that the turbo and all is still there and I haven't seen any pics.....

So I'm staying up all night and tomorrow we will be lifting it into the back of my fiance's outback and it'll be on its journey home.

Let's say it'll be hard for me to contain my excitement tomorrow and might have the jitters in class.

Current plans for it is I will be taking the parts needed to turbo my 22e with a custom rotated turbo kit until I move and have the space and time to do the complete swap.

Alright so here's the deal, what do you know he didn't show up and I'm sure there's yet another lame excuse. He's currently on facebook but has not replied to my messages. He has my number and hasn't called or texted. I'm giving him until midnight tonight to deliver it or I'm going to a lawyer tomorrow because after 10 months of waiting and waiting, I'm pissed to say the least. Do you guys think I'm being too much of a dick or too nice for waiting 10 months.

Also he's doing the same thing to a mutual friend and he also bought parts from another one of my buddies and never paid for them.

Even still, just go to the guy's place, kick his face in, take your "WRX" and raid his fridge so he can't have breakfast.

I forgot to type engine. its a wrx engine that I paid for 10 months ago. he doesn't have my financial info and I've been waiting and waiting on it. and I would love to kick his face in but that doesn't solve anything really

If you already paid for it, than there is legal recourse. Did you buy this from a private person? How did you already pay for it? Paypal? Are you close to the guy's work or residence? If so, go to him.

First off, I apologize for constantly changing the title, trying to keep it updated with whats going on so now its more general.

So yesterday my fiance and I found a bugeye wrx for $1200 that just needed an engine, or so the guy said. We rented a tow dolly (I was gonna remove the driveshaft and have done this before with no issues), found a friend with a truck and drove 3 hours into jersey for this thing...cash in hand. We get there and the owner was at work so we had to deal with his dad.

On top of that he didn't have the title cause he still owed on the car. We start looking at the car and it wasn't all that bad, fixable...then we open the hood. The frame was buckled, looked more around the car and found 3 bald tires and only 1 good tire, stereo was missing, no rear subframe, no brakes, brake cables were hanging down and would have rubbed on the wheels in tow, the rotors were rusted beyond imagine, the hood didnt even have a latch, and both headlights were broken. They had a brand new bodykit for it but we, like most subaru enthusiasts, dont even want them. So we didnt get the car.

We had plans to pick up my engine which was supposed to be at the guys house but he has been trucking the engine around with him to and from illinois because he drives past my college and when I called him he wasnt home but got his parents to give me my money back in cash until we could both meet up so nobody is losing anything. He even gave me a deal on a wiring harness and ecu for the engine whenever we meet up. Current goal is this thursday at 2

Also we found out that, yes you can drift a tow dolly.

It's one thing to voice your opinion but you don't need to insult, keep that shit on nasioc we're better than that here. Also I don't care what your opinion is about me, you're just making yourself look bad. I have my money back so if I don't ever get the engine then I lost nothing. Also if I do indeed get it and need to sell it I could easily get 10 times my investment in profit and that's lowballing everything.

I'm just being overly blunt because I wouldn't want you to make a gargantuan mistake. You said yourself that the past dealings you had with this dude were a nightmare (heck, you titled the thread as such). Do you honestly think it would be a good idea to continue to try and do business with the same guy who has been jerking you around for the past 10 months?

At the end of the day, it's your money. I hope it all works out for you as you're a good guy who's been around this community for a while. I've been here even longer so maybe I'm a dingus but I feel as if us OGs are family. Seriously man, keep your head on straight and don't get taken.

Harry - you shouldn't trust this guy and this engine. Hell, after a year this engine could have been seized up or blown a rod. That's all Battlewagon is saying.

Yeah, I mean I'm not handing the money over until I see it. The reason why I handed the money over before was because we used to be really good friends. At least this way whatever happens then nobody owes the other anything. He said if he rolls the truck and totals the engine he'll get me another one for the same price but again, not buying it until I look at it.

I have a small list of parts that it must have and any one of those parts makes the investment worth it.


I get where you're coming from Huffer I'd still like to look at it at least. I was thinking about going through the whole engine and cleaning all the old engine gunk out of it anyway.

ended up demanding my money back about a week or two after the last post. He supposedly mailed it wednesday and I haven't gotten it and it only takes 1-2 days to mail in state so obviously he didn't mail it and will come up with yet another excuse.

At this point I wanna know what I can do other than taking a baseball bat to this shitheads face. He owes me $75 yet and I'd rather not drive the 2 hours one way to his house.

I'll visit the magistrate next week to see what I can do. He gave my fiance advice in the past.

Any legal action will prob. cost you more than you are owed. Best bet is to prob. let it go and pray karma actually works. The most extreme thing would be to call his place of employment and explain that you and a lawyer are trying to receive payment on a debt... although i've seen it done, i'd think you could end up in jail for pulling a stunt like that..haha

Seriously... the magistrate is going to tell you to go to small claims. You'll get a judgement, but it won't force him to pay.

Chalk it up to experience and next time if it feels too good to be true, it probably is.

I just gave up with this whole thing. I pretty much accepted that my money is gone and I'll never see it again, no matter how much I could use it right now or how much I complain about it. Now I'm just entertaining myself with making him come up with excuses as to why I don't have it. Currently he "shipped" me what I bought plus some extras and my money as well. It has been almost 2 weeks now and the tracking number he supplied didnt even work. I do have usps searching to see if there's even a package in my name.

I do have to admit, some excuses you just gotta laugh at...like the toothache one hahaha
