Hey there all, need some advice on what to do with some suspension I picked up from a buddy.

It's a full set of KYB GR-2s in decent shape, with H&R 29472 springs on them. Front tophats look like they would be friendly to my BK but I'm not sure if these have the spring rate/height I need for a big wagon, or that the rear springs will work at all :-/

H&R's application guide doesn't have a listing for my car, so I'm not really sure where to go next.

Pics.

One pic of my $600 wagon just for kicks

Who put that strut/spring setup together? I've never seen the dead coils (part of spring where the coils are closer together and wrapped in the black rubber) on top. I think the spring on the left needs to be flipped back around. And there are no top hats on there. Those are just the spring perches for the front top hats to go on top of. You can reuse your stock top hats, but you'll have to take apart your stock setup, take apart this new setup and swap in your top hats. There should be a washer between the spring perch and the top hat as well so you can turn the wheel. I can't tell if there's one in the pics. Rear top hats and spring perches are connected, it's only one piece. Now that I think of it, the springs pictured might be the rear springs and the perches are for the front.

Also the only person I know who's rocking impreza H&R's on their legacy is member Rocketlegacy. You can search his name in the search bar up top to see some pics. Putting Impreza springs on legacy's can definitely work. The ride height seems to vary, but it should probably sit low. There are other threads about impreza suspension on legacy's if you search for them here.

No idea who put them together. Good to know All I should have to do is flip the spring and throw my top hats on! Saw somewhere that somebody used some spacers or some such to make up for the difference in ride height between the Imps and Legacies, anybody know anything about it?

I actually have some for the rear of my car. Got them at Paranoid Fabrications (http://www.paranoidfabrications.com/shop/category/subaru-impreza/saggy-butt-spacers/). I used the impreza 04-07 spacer for me legacy. I just needed to cut a little bit around the center with a dremel to make it sit flush on the legacy tophat.

Hmm, I'm thinking I can cut up a cheap cutting board for less than what those will cost me. I am much skilled in the art of cardboard templating. We'll see what happens!

Grew a brain and did some parts number lookup. Looks like the part numbers for the fronts are the same between the Imps and my wagon, but the rears are different. Wonder what the combination of Imp struts and lowering springs will do to the back of the car. hmmm....let the experimenting begin!

So did the H&R 29472 fit the GR-2's fine?
