Need help with my tranny please

I have a 97 lgt. I drove it home the other night and everything was working fine. The throwout bearing has been making some noise for a little while. Next morning I went to go to work and the shifter is now stuck in reverse (or I think reverse, possibly tranny in 4th and shifter in reverse). I can push the clutch in and start the car, but when I try to move I get nothing. The stick is stuck in reverse position. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I have a couple kids and really need to get back to work before I loose my job. So PLEASE HELP

I suppose I'd start by jacking the car up and checking the linkage underneath.

The only time I've experienced the shifter being stuck it was because the gears were shattered....

Does the car move when you start letting the clutch out?

The car is setting on about a 5% grade and doesn't seem to want to move when i press in the clutch. If the gears went, shouldn't I have heard something when I parked it. Ran perfect when I parked it. The throwout bearing has been making some noise. The night between when I parked it and went to start it got down to about 32 degrees, not sure if that makes a difference or not. I"m going to go out and check the linkage in a few.

Sounds like something is wrong with the throw out/pressure plate.

I have kind of been praying for it to be throwout bearing or pressure plate as I got laid off and already have a clutch kit. Any ideas on how to get the car on a flat bed to get it over to my friends lift?

I can start the car without it jumping forward or back and stalling with the clutch in, not sure if that helps any

Your clutch fork might be bent or cracked
