My BH has pulled this code twice in the last two months. I'm guessing to fix it I need to replace the IAT sensor?

That would be the first thing to do. Easy job, but its an expensive part (about $95 on fredbeansparts)

I just looked on rockauto.com. They have them for $20-$40. I've always wondered why some places have such different prices.

Not OEM part?

This car doesn't get OEM. Its get driven about 3000 miles a year. Plus its already a POS.

It's funny because rockauto has the Denso upstream O2 sensor for my Forester for 86 bucks (Denso makes the OEM one) and the "OEM Subaru" sensor is over 150 bucks. Sometimes the same thing is more expensive just because it says OEM on it.

The 00 Outback should have a MAP and AIT sensor as one right? I think I got the wrong part. If it matters the car has an auto trans.

I don't know what the cut off is but either it is part of the MAP sensor or it is in the air filter box shown below. If you don't see it in your air filter box then unless there is something I don't know it is part of your MAP sensor.

Thanks. That is where I thought it was, but there is no whole in the air box. I went back and looked where I ordered the part. It says its for a manual trans.

I replaced the MAP sensor about a month ago. It has worked great since.
